This blog was created by Pierre Lellouche, a French lawyer, essayist, politician, and internationally recognized expert in geopolitics and foreign policy. It offers independent, in-depth analysis of global affairs, European security, and France’s place in a rapidly changing world order.
Pierre Lellouche holds a law degree from the University of Paris, is a graduate of Sciences Po, and earned both an LL.M. (1974) and a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D., 1978) from Harvard Law School, where he completed a doctoral dissertation on the internationalization of the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear non-proliferation.
He is the co-founder and former deputy director of the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI). A lecturer in geopolitics and prolific author, he has published numerous policy reports and essays, and regularly contributes to leading French and international publications (Le Point, Newsweek, Marianne, Valeurs Actuelles). He also appears frequently as a commentator on CNEWS.
From 1989 to 1997, Pierre Lellouche served as foreign policy advisor to President Jacques Chirac. He was elected Member of the French National Assembly for Paris from 1993 to 2017, serving five consecutive terms on the Foreign Affairs Committee. He was also Paris City Councillor, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (2004–2006), and international affairs spokesperson for the center-right party Les Républicains.
